The KNAW has acquired microarray instrumentation from Agilent Technologies. The Netherlands Ophthalmic Research Institute and the Netherlands Institute for Brain Research host these KNAW microarray facilities. Our first goal is to apply microarrays containing 22.000 features, to expression profiling in tissues derived postmortem from human eye and brain. Results of our initial hybridizations demonstrate the high quality of the technology.
As for the analysis and mining of the data, we would like to discuss our experiences with the software packages ISYS (NCGR) and maxd (Microarray group, Manchester Bioinformatics).
