Dear ArrayNL-platform members,

Please find below a summary of the most recent developments.

Yours sincerely,

===========================================================================
ArrayNL-platform MEETING
The next ArrayNL-platform workshop will be organized on Tuesday September
26 (organizers Frank Holstege / Johan den Dunnen). The plan is to start at
around 10.00 and finish at 16.30. Before lunch the focus will lie on the
methodology (technical problems / possibilities in NL), after lunch on
results (presentations describing successful applications). During lunch
there should be ample time for informal discussions.
People who have ideas regarding the program, who want to contribute
or who are willing to assist in organizing the meeting are requested to let
us know as soon as possible (ddunnen@lumc.nl / f.c.p.holstege@med.uu.nl).

COMMERCIAL LINKS
The "Commercial links"-page on the ArrayNL-platform homepage has been
activated. This page has been set up to meet the request of several
companies to spread commercial news within the ArrayNL platform.
Companies will be listed with a link to a company's WWW-site,
preferentially listing DNA-chip and micro-array related products from
their total assortment. The companies will pay a small fee for this
service which we will use for the organization of our platform and its
meetings. When interested in new products / possibilities, please check
this page.

TASK FORCES
Two task forces have been initiated (see "Task forces"-page);
arrayCGH (human genome copy number change detection)
	bioinformatics
Interested in others - please contact me and take action.

SHARED COLLECTIONS
Although the number of existing probe collections (general and custom-
designed) is growing rapidly, like the interest in "desired collections",
only few are listed yet (array_share.html). Those interested to be listed
are requested to let me know (ddunen@lumc.nl Subject: arrayNL_share).

Leiden Genome Technology Center - LGTC
See LGTC micro-array pages:
*the human cDNA clone library (40K total) is now complete
*micro-arrays generated include; a cheap test micro-array for initial
experiments (testing labeling / hybridization conditions), several custom-
designed sets, a 10,000-human-cDNA micro-array
*chips (Affymetrix); a 50% discount on the European price list (for
expression chips) has been negotiated, the murine Mu19K and Mu11K sets
will be discontinued by Affymetrix.
